Sufi Samrat Boro Pir was a Sunni Muslim missionary, mystic, jurist, ascetic, and theologian of the Hanbali school. He is one of the best spiritual figures in Islam. He is known as one of the preachers of Islam too.

A lot of Sufis think the respectful Muhyiddin refers to his status as a reviver of religion. Gilani refers to his place of birth, Gilani. Besides this, it bore the title of Baghdadi too. It refers to his abode and burial in Baghdad.

Birth
He was born on the 1st of the month of Ramadan in 470 Hijri. He was born in the Jilan city in the city of Baghdad. The name of his father is Abu Saleh Mucha Zangi. His mother's name is Syeda Ummul Khair Fatima. His father was a descendant of Imam Hasan Ibn Ali. His mother was a scion of Imam Husain Ibn Ali.
Education
In his native state of Gilan, he passed his early life. He went to Baghdad to win higher education at the age of 18 in 1095. There he learned the Hanbali Madhhab from Abu Sa'id Mubarak Makhumi & Ibn Aqeel. He studied hadith under Abu Muhammad Ja'far al-Sarraj. After ending his lesson, he returned his birthplace. He passed 25 years ascetic in the desert of Iraq.
Honesty of Him
He was a hugely honest from his childhood. His honesty is not comparable with others. He is an unique symbol of honesty for all. He said truth in any hard state in his life. His mother helped him to used to this quality of speak truth.
Preach of Creed
After gaining fullness in lore, he put in himself in the work of preaching the holy religion of Islam. Abdul Qadir Gilani used to set out the ideals of Islam in varied mehfils. Not only Muslims but also a lot of non-Muslims took part in his mehfil. A lot of non-Muslims adopted Islam after hearing his speech.
The Qadiriyya Tariqa of Sufism
He set up the Qadiriyya Tariqa. A lot of branches of it expand across many parts of the world. Some of the places are UK, China, Africa, and etc.

Boro Pir passed away on 11 Rabi' al-Thani in 561 Hijri. He was 91 years old in his death time. His death day is held with great glory by Sufis all over the world every year. His death annual is named as Fateha-e-Yazdaham. Gyarvi Sharif is observed on the 10th day of every Arabic month.
